Sunday Stash #2

Just a quick little show and tell and the inspiration that caused this recent purchase.

I was on Pinterest and I saw the pin for these cute fabric bins. They immediately made me think of the Charley Harper fabric I'd seen. Yes, I know, I was late to the Charley Harper fabric party. In fact, it was a little difficult to find, but I did find some and was able to get six different prints from the same vendor.

Thank you, Fabricworm. By the way, I'm loving their custom bundles of fabric and really had to resist.

IMG_6169Here's what I chose...

IMG_6170I really love the trees (Octoberama Blue). I wanted to keep to one colorway, so I had to resist getting Octoberama Fall in the reds and oranges too... but I might need to pick up some of that!

One more fun nature print. I bought this cut of fabric as a splurge in a recent order intending it for a dress for The Girl. I just saw an adorable dress made with this and the coordinating tartan plaid. I might need to add that to my list as well. :-)

Happy shopping! Linking up with Molli Sparkles for Sunday Stash.

  1. The Notting Hill alone was worth getting! It is still one of my "go to" fabrics because of all the great designs and interesting tones. Well, and Charley Harper, there's no denying its fabulousness!

My golly gosh, I love that beautiful poppy fabric in the teal and aqua tones, it's to die for. You are very lucky to have access to such fabrics. Being from Adelaide South Australia my local fabric store is very selective on the fabric she buys and is often not able to gets any additional fabric in if I should see something on the web. If she does I am usually required to buy at least 6 to 11 metres of something that I love. It's okay if I got a big pocket of cash but as I'm retired now and on a pension I am poor and have to save my money for big metres of fabric. But I'm glad I saw it it truly is lovely and can see in as a feature centre piece in a block. Well love to see what you do with it. Julie at julie714@adam.com.au

Thanks for visiting, Julie. I have a new dress pattern that I like for my 2 year old daughter, so maybe it's time to make those poppies into a dress! There are a few time-sensitive projects ahead of it though.

  3. Oh, Sarah.... I know just how you feel about those Charley Harper fabrics! I will warn you though... It is hard to cut into them, but sew worth it! The Notting Hill is also gorgeous. Looking forward to seeing what you make with all this fabric goodness!

Thank you, Lorna. The Charley Harper fabric is slated for a gift I'm giving on June 1, so I'll be cutting into it after the weekend. :-)
