Sunday Stash #5: A Little Bit of Yellow

My stash is sorely lacking in some colors of blenders. I really need to work on that. I think it's accidentally happened that I've acquired some yellows lately.

First, this lovely chevron... When I was ordering the Charley Harper fabric from Fabricworm I was fifty cents away from being able to use a $5 off coupon, so I added this lovely $5 half yard of Riley Blake Small Yellow Chevron and used my coupon to get it for free!

I took advantage of a Craftsy sale on fabric to buy 4 yards of black (since I felt like I would have used it with the birthday outfits if I'd had it... and it could totally come in handy for a quilt project). I also grabbed a yard of the Andover Dimples in Yellow.  Here's the super close-up! You'll just have to imagine what my solid black fabric looks like. :-)Andover Yellow Dimples

This next one is actually a canvas fabric intended for pillow covers on my red couch, Trident in Daffodil. trident in daffodil

When I posted my first Sunday Stash post I linked up to Sewing by Moonlight. Em had a giveaway and I WON! Thank you so much, Em, the fabrics are beautiful! I have an idea in mind for them.

Still on my blender wish list: more yellows, greens, teals, oranges.

I'm linking up with Quilts from the Attic, hosting the Sunday Stash for Molli Sparkles this week.

Such pretty yellows, they just pop off the page, I'm sure they will look wonderful in whatever you make with them.

Thank you, Shauna! I have no idea what I'm going to do with them yet... I have a lot of blue and purple, and I think yellow would look great with those. :-)

  2. Yellows are severely lacking in my stash! These are some lovely ones. Don't you love when you "have" to get just one more fabric? I did the same thing this week with my stash building. The extra couple dollars to get me to free shipping was enough to add some Bee Happy to my stash! Love it!

Thanks, Mara. The room includes our kids art table, so we decided to go with primary colors.

  3. Good yellows used to be hard to find, but they seem to be getting better over the last couple years. I discovered the same "hole" in my stash a few months back, and just "had" to fill it right up! :D Love your choices!

Thanks, Toni. So much of my stash is feature fabrics. When I was pulling fabrics for teacher gifts I realized I was really lacking in the "go with" department. :-)

  4. I love yellows, love 'em! I've had my eye on that yellow canvas for what seems like ages. I've also been trying to be judicious about my fabric purchases so as to include blender fabrics.

Thanks for stopping by, Jeifner. I have a whole cart of blenders saved, but I haven't pulled the trigger. Decisions, decisions. :-) Trying to finish up a few other projects first.
