Sunday Stash #8: A Rainbow of Fabric

I took the kiddos to The Intrepid Thread this week to pick out some additional fabrics to go with the airplane and helicopter fabric for their party outfits.

The Boy's birthday fabricsWell, surrounded by all the lovely new fabrics available, I scrapped my red/yellow stripes and blue blender in favor of six new fabrics to coordinate instead.

I LOVE them! Left to right: Stitch Square in Minnie (Michael Miller), Crosshatch Sketch in Orange (Timeless Treasures), Stitch Circle in Mustard (Michael Miller), Pearl Bracelet in Kelly Green (Andover), Scribble in Blue (Cloud 9), Tiles Tonal Orchid (Robert Kaufman).

The Boy has chosen that his bowling shirt will have the green, blue, purple and airplanes. And I'll use all seven fabrics for The Girl's dress.

Oh, and a bit of fat quarter impulse shopping while I was there. Pearl Bracelet in Grape Jelly (Andover) and Ovals in Orange (Robert Kaufman).

The best thing about garment sewing is having leftover bits for quilting, so I heartily approve of your rainbow selections ;-)

  3. These outfits sound so fun and they definitely will be colorful. My favorite pearl bracelet color is the grape jelly one. Have fun sewing.

      1. Such amazing work Sarah, thank you for sharing your previous makes, I love ladybugs, in fact I call my little girl my ladybug. You seriously have me tempted in buying that bowling shirt pattern, I can't wait to see your newest version of it. I have a ton of dress patterns for my daughter but nothing for my son, I will have to think about it.
