Q3 Finish Along Goals

I'm new this quarter to the Finish Along with Katy at The Littlest Thistle. I have about a million WIP & UFOs... so I guess I'll just lay them all out here. I have some specific July Goals from this list.

  1. 4th of July Table runner (blocks pieced)
  2. Airplane dress for The Girl (fabric cut out)
  3. Airplane shirt for The boy (fabric cut out)
  4. 2005 (red/black/white) mystery quilt (on step 15 to piece the top)
  5. American Made Brand Farm to Fabric Challenge quilt (fabrics selected)
  6. 2003 (brights) mystery quilt (top completed)
  7. Ocean quilt for The Girl (top pieced, but needs applique done)
  8. Fish Mug Rug 1 (top/backing cut, fabrics chosen for fish and seaweed applique)
  9. Fish Mug Rug 2 (same as #8)
  10. Fish Mug Rug 3 (same as #8)
  11. Fish Mug Rug 4 (same as #8)
  12. Dinosaur SCVQA Philanthropy quilt (FMQ partially done)
  13. Fish 1 SCVQA philanthropy quilt (FMQ partially done)
  14. Fish 2 SCVQA philanthropy quilt (sandwiched)
  15. Batik SCVQA philanthropy quilt (sandwiched)
  16. Roman Stripez with butterfly backing (fabric selected)
  17. Roman Stripez with turtle backing (fabric selected)
  18. The Purple Ninja Quilt (fabric selected)

I realize that this is totally an "eyes bigger than my stomach" goal list for 3 months with a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old at home. And, ya know, dishes and laundry and all those other things to do around the house. Bottom line, blogging and goal setting starting in June has helped keep me sewing something every day. I like sewing. I'm happier when I do more of it. Some of these goals are non-negotiable (like the clothes for the kids to wear at The Boy's birthday party in two weeks) and some are much more lofty goals. I have more ideas than time and I keep trying to restrain myself from starting a new project until I finish some of these older (and in some cases VERY OLD) ones.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be posting real time progress pics as I work on Instagram and updating on my blog when I've finished (or made some awesome progress). I'd love for you to follow me at Bloglovin', Twitter or by subscribing here by email.

I'm linking up with The Littlest Thistle Finish Along Quarter 3.

Whew! Well, at least you know you won't need to spend time shopping for a new project for this quarter! LOL!
And I'm sure of one thing. They will all be beautiful when completed!
Cheering you onward and upward, Sarah :-)

Thanks, Marji. At least I've just run out of The Good Wife to watch, so I can focus more on sewing. :-)

  2. Hi Sarah, I totally agree with the more sewing gets done the happier you are. I find it to be a great leveller (I too have 2 and 4year olds). I wish you good luck on your goals and look forward to see your finishes.

  3. That is one crazy list of goals!! At least you have it all laid out so you can prioritize what comes next. I am looking forward to seeing the kids' party outfits. I miss sewing for little ones. Mine are all way past that stage. How sweet. Post pics when you get them done.

Thanks, Bernie! The party is on July 19th so there's a hard deadline on the outfits. Though tonight I chose to work on piecing the 4th of July table runner instead of starting on the kids outfits. Crazy day, so there wasn't much sewing. Tomorrow I hope to get my borders on my table runner and start stitching those outfits! (Fingers crossed for a good long nap time by the kiddos tomorrow.)
