Sunday Stash #11: Charm Packs and Layer Cakes and Yardage, Oh My!

This week I checked out the Fat Quarter Shop 24-Hour Flash Sale on the right day. I found some lovely layer cakes I just couldn't resist. No particular plans for them at the moment.

While I was there I took the opportunity to also pick up some of the Cotton and Steel Basics, a Charm Pack (which was actually four smaller charm packs put together as a set), and a few pieces of yardage. Yum!

Thanks, Sarah. I love having new brightly colored fabric. :-) (This explains why I just realized I have exactly 1 piece of grey fabric in my stash.)

  1. I really like the Cotton and Steel basics.. they've got some neat prints there and in nice colours.

I like the text print from the Lakehouse group, but I'm a little surprised by the rest of them. I'm not sure what sorts of prints I thought would be mixed in, but there's a little more in the delicate floral line than I usually go for in my fabrics.

Thanks, Kacey. I look forward to using them both... after I knock off some of my half a million WIPs. :-)

  2. Hi! Have you happen to have a quilting tutorial somewhere? I've always been interested but have no idea where to even start.

    Lovely blog!

Thank you, Missa. I'm sorry, but at this point I do not have any quilting related tutorials. Leah Day has a great quilt along running this year. You can find all her videos so far and a link to her pattern on her Building Blocks Quilt Along page. She has great tips for piecing and for free motion quilting. Another great option would be to look for a local quilt shop in your area to take a beginners class. Best wishes!
