Color Play Friday: Late Summer in Lorinda’s Garden

It's been quite a while since I have been able to carve out the time to participate in Color Play Friday (or blogging regularly in general). :-/ I'm happy to have jumped onto this week's event. I love the bold color of the flower and decided to stick with floral as my inspiration, in addition to the color palette I pulled from the photo.

I have to say, that black print that I chose isn't working for me 100%... it's got little blue bits. Hm. The photo on the Hawthorne site showed it a little more pale and the blue bits looked green to me. I'm leaving it in because I *do* like seeing the pale red and gold to complement the first two fabrics.

In other news, why do I still not own any Painters Canvas!?

I created my palette with Palette Builder 2.1 by Play Crafts.

Solids:
Kona Paprika
Kona Papaya
Kona Palm
Kona Black
Kona Steel

Prints:
Tile in Brick by Alison Glass, Andover
Specks in Carambola by Frances Newcombe, Art Gallery
Painters Canvas in Bottle by Laura Gunn, Michael Miller
Lush in Black by Lorena Siminovich, Cloud 9
Dandelions in Grey by Dear Stella

Check out the other palettes this week at:

If you'd like to participate in Color Play Friday you can visit In An Otter Life or Laurel, Poppy and Pine for the rules, their contact information, and next week's photo.

  1. Great palette this week! I know what you mean about Painters Canvas. It keeps creeping into my CPF bundles and every week it seems like I'm asking myself why I don't own any yet!
