Progress on My Last Two Mini Swap Quilts

In an effort to have more time for other sewing, I'm participating in my last two swaps for the foreseeable future. They both come due in February, so I'm chipping away on two mini quilts this month.

First, for the Hazel Mania Swap, I've completed two Hazel the Hedgehog blocks. I'll definitely be making more of these cuties! To finish the quilt I just need to fill in the background fabric and add a few special accessories that will personalize it for my secret partner. I look forward to mailing it off to her. Any guesses on the relationship of my two hazels?

Second, I opted in for the Modern Quilt Guild swap and chose to make a color wash mini with improv tumbler blocks. I'm super excited about this one. And I get to deliver it in person to my secret partner while I'm at Quilt Con in Savannah, GA next month. I've pieced two of the nine rows, though as you can see my bottom row has a bit of a curve to it. Things may get interesting once all my rows are pieced. ;-)

Thank you, Yvonne! I see more color wash quilts in my future. I won't share any spoilers on the relationship until the mini is received. Stay tuned! ;-)

Both projects look great. I finished piecing my MQG swap on the weekend. Need to get it quilted and in the mail.

Thanks for visiting, Anja. I should really try to finish mine up before the next round of Project QUILTING starts up Sunday morning. Good luck to us both!

Those hedgehogs are adorable - I get a kick out of that pattern each time I see someone making it. I think they might be big sister-little brother?

Thank you, Bernie. I'm glad I signed up for the swap so I'd finally make some hazels. Good motivation. I love the giant version for a baby quilt. Great guess. I'm keeping it a secret for now. ;-)
