Color Play Friday: Beach Days

It's been a few months since I've joined in for Color Play Friday. I decided to participate for this Beach Days picture (taken by Sarah at 123 Quilt) because there are so many colors to choose from. We don't see anyone else's palette until the day we all post, so it will be interesting to see what people choose. My palette was chosen from the colors on the chair on the right, with the darker blue coming from the ocean.

I created my palette with Palette Builder 2.1 by Play Crafts.

Solids:
Kona Honeysuckle
Kona Mango
Kona Butterscotch
Kona Bonsai
Kona Everglade
Kona Cadet

Prints:
Seed Bead in Ruby by Alison Glass, Andover Fabrics
Green Wall in Tangerine by Carolyn Friedlander, Robert Kaufman
Sea Urchin in Sunshine by Rashida Coleman-Hale, Cotton & Steel
Brick Walls in Sulfur by Latifah Saafir, Me+You
Sausage Sky in North by Pat Bravo, Art Gallery Fabrics
Feathered Coral in Night by Angela Walters, Art Gallery Fabrics

That just kind of happened. There's so much variance in the colors in the chair (and the whole photo). I was drawn to the bright colors in the chair, but I was working on mobile, so I had a hard time picking the spot that was the brightest version of each color. That said, I'm happy with how it played out.

Thank you, Tisha. It's a little outside my fully saturated palettes of choice, but I'm really happy with it.

Oh wow! I love your palette! I'm going to have to save this one as inspiration for a future quilt. I thought about focusing on that chair too but I just couldn't resist the rest of the photo. With that much color it was like being a kid in a candy store.

Thank you, Sarah. I'll have to keep this palette in my back pocket, too. I may have the perfect quilt for it.
